Phytosanitary Certificate
(Order only if required)
Issued by the department of Agriculture of Puerto Rico
| A phytosanitary certificate is a document often required by many states and foreign countries for the import of nonprocessed, plant products. |
The word phytosanitary is derived from two Greek words phyto meaning plant and sanitary , meaning clean. Export commodities (depending on the country or state) must meet certain standards or criteria outlined by the importing country or state. These plant health requirements pertain to storage, pests, plant diseases, chemical treatments and weeds.
This product is offered as a service to buyers who require this service to satisfy regulations in their state or country. The objective of the certification process is to facilitate the entry of U.S. origin plant or plant products into the state or country of destination. This is accomplished by certifying that the plants or plant products were inspected and conform to any phytosanitary entry requirements the importing state or country has set prior to leaving the origin.
When applicable, the buyers are responsible for any additional permits or quarantines that may be applicable for their locations |
This service must be ordered in conjunction and in the same order with other plant products from our store. It covers all products in the order and everything must ship together to the same address.
Due to the distances involved to the nearest inspection office and the necessary appointment scheduling, ordering this certificate may delay your shipment by one additional week.
