General Information
Inflorescence

The Heliconia wagneriana, Petersen produces large, colorful flowers with pale yellow bracts with bright pink centers.  Most people think of the bracts as the bloom, but the true flower are stiff sepals that poke out of the bracts at various points.

The Heliconia wagneriana, Petersen is a generous bloomer January to September, peaking in the Spring.
Height

 Heliconia wagneriana, Petersen is medium sized and averages 6 to 8 ft. in height.  Can be grown in large container.
Habitat

 Full sun to partial shade.  Moderately humid soil.

 Cut Flower

Flower is great in floral arrangements when combined with other heliconias and gingers.  Fresh flower will last 7 to 14 days in clean water.
