The Heliconia bihai, Emerald Forest produces large, unusual flowers with bright green bracts edged with some white streaks. Most people think of the bracts as the bloom, but the true flower are the white and green stiff sepals that poke out of the bracts at various points.

The Emerald Forest is large and vigorous and averages 6 to 8 ft. in height. Can be grown in large container.
Full sun to partial shade. Moderately humid soil.
Flower is great in floral arrangements when combined with smaller calatheas, zingibers or bamboo stakes. Fresh flower will last 7 to 14 days in clean water.
